Introduction to the Wonder Algorithm
Most parents we talk to aren’t worried about one bad habit. They’re worried about something quieter—the way screens have slowly pulled families into separate worlds, even when everyone is sitting on the same couch.
And underneath that worry is guilt. Not because they’re doing something wrong, but because they don’t know what to actually do instead.
That’s the gap the Wonder Algorithm was built to close.
What It Is
The Wonder Algorithm is a free five-volume AI Pre-Literacy series for children ages 3 to 8. Fifty stories in total, one year of a child’s life per volume.
Each story is read aloud by a parent or teacher, from a shared phone or tablet, in about ten minutes a day.
That’s it. No app to download. No login. No screen the child stares at alone.
How a Story Works
Every story follows the same gentle five-day rhythm.
Day 1–2 — Imagine. You read the story aloud. There are no pictures yet. The child becomes the illustrator in their own mind.
Day 3–4 — See. You open the first image together. This is what you imagined — now you can see it.
Day 4 — Name. You meet eight special words. Each one comes out of something a character did or said — never a dictionary definition.
Day 5 — Check. A quiet quiz. A small chime for right, a soft boop for wrong. No score, no pressure.
Day 5 — Create. You open a second image. The child invents their own story from it. There is no wrong answer.
Ten minutes. Shared screen. Parent-led. Gentle.
Why Conversation, Not Content
Here is the idea that shaped everything: a child’s brain doesn’t build itself from content. It builds itself from interaction.
When a child asks a question and an adult answers — that back-and-forth, repeated thousands of times — that’s what wires language, thinking, and emotional understanding together.
A story a child watches alone can’t do that. A story a parent and child move through together can, every single time.
So we built stories that give you something to talk about. Not something to watch.
The Five Volumes
Volume 1 — Imagination Scientist (ages 3–4). You are the Guide, protecting the space where a child’s imagination builds its first pictures.
Volume 2 — Systems Thinkers (ages 4–5). You are the Thinking Partner, helping a child move from that something works to how.
Volume 3 — Ethical Explorers (ages 5–6). You are the Ethical Coach, walking through the first questions of fairness and consequence.
Volume 4 — Creative Co-Pilots (ages 6–7). You are the Systems Facilitator, helping a child design partnerships with technology, not just judge it.
Volume 5 — Wise Navigators (ages 7–8). You are the Socratic Guide, asking the questions that let a child reason toward their own conclusions about power and responsibility.
Five years. One volume at a time.
A Few Questions to Try Tonight
These work with any story, in any volume.
- If you were the character in today’s story, what would you have done differently?
- What’s one new word we learned today? Can you use it in a sentence about your own day?
- What do you think happens to this character tomorrow?
- If you could ask today’s AI character one question, what would you ask?
- What’s one thing a smart helper could never do as well as a person can?
Where the Research Comes From
We didn’t build this on instinct. Every choice — the no-pictures-first rule, the eight words, the five-day rhythm, the parent-led structure—is grounded in developmental science.

Parents and Teachers Guide & Wonder Algorithm 5 Volumes
We didn’t set out to write children’s stories. We set out to close a gap — between a parent who feels guilty and a parent who has something to do.
Five volumes. Fifty stories. One conversation at a time. All are free. No login. No advertisement. No data collection.
