Implementation Roadmap
— For School and Family — Step by Step

This chapter gives you a practical, week-by-week roadmap to start BUNYAAD tomorrow and sustain it over time. One pillar strong for 2 weeks is success. Progress, not perfection.

🗓️ Three Rules to Start: 1. Choose one routine. 2. Try it for 2 weeks. 3. Reflect weekly: Tried… Noticed… Felt…

5.1 Week 1 Quick-Start Guide — Same for Home and School

Do not read the whole handbook before starting. Start tomorrow with Day 1. Each day builds on the previous one. After 6 days, you have the complete BUNYAAD foundation.

Day 1

🔵 Izzat — Foundations & Safety

🏫 School:
  • Introduce BUNYAAD: “I feel excited to learn with you.”
  • Co-create 3 simple norms: “We listen.” “We respect try.” “We help.”
  • Practice Morning Circle greeting only.
  • End-of-day: “One thing I learned about a classmate today.”
🏠 Home:
  • Greeting by name, eye contact.
  • Co-create 3 family norms: “We listen without interrupting.” “We respect try.” “We help.”
Day 2

🔵 Izzat — Greeting & Respect

🏫 School:
  • Teach Greeting at Entry (2 min).
  • Partner interviews: “Find someone who…”
  • Start Respect Chain — first links.
  • Model: “I appreciate when…”
🏠 Home:
  • Practice greeting family members by name.
  • Use “Thank you for trying” when child makes a mistake with homework.
Day 3

💚 Ehsas — Empathy (Independent)

🏫 School:
  • Setup Feeling Check-In (30 sec) — thumb faces.
  • Whole-class belly breathing (3 times).
  • Introduce Emotion Thermometer.
  • Explicitly teach: Avoid bechara — use Ehsas.
🏠 Home:
  • Dinner feeling check-in — thumb faces.
  • Belly breathing as a family.
  • Thermometer on the fridge.
  • Replace “bechara” with “What I hear you saying is…”
Day 4

🟢 Tafakkur — Inquiry

🏫 School:
  • Launch Wonder Wall.
  • Activity: See-Think-Wonder with an interesting image.
  • Use Question Stems: “What if?” “Why?”
  • Homework: Bring one wonder question tomorrow.
🏠 Home:
  • Launch Wonder Wall on the fridge.
  • See-Think-Wonder with a kitchen object.
  • Celebrate every question.
Day 5

🟠 Qaboo — Self-Regulation

🏫 School:
  • Create Calm Space together — time-in, not punishment.
  • Practice “I feel… I need… I will…”
  • Language: “I notice my body telling me something. What am I feeling?”
🏠 Home:
  • Create a Calm Space at home (corner with cushion).
  • Practice “I feel… I need… I will…” as a family.
Day 6

🔴 Ittihad — Collaboration

🏫 School:
  • Simple group task with defined roles.
  • Introduce Peace Table location.
  • Practice Apology of Action (role play).
  • Start Kindness Jar.
🏠 Home:
  • Simple family task with roles: Material Manager, Time Keeper.
  • Peace Table at home — two chairs for sibling conflict.
  • Apology of Action: Fix the mistake, not just “sorry.”
✅ After Day 6, you have the complete BUNYAAD foundation. Now repeat, deepen, and sustain.

5.2 Phased Implementation Timeline — 16 Weeks (Tiered Model)

BUNYAAD uses a Tiered Model. Stay at Tier 1 as long as you need. Depth over breadth. One pillar strong for 2 weeks is success.

Phase 1 Weeks 1–4

🏗️ Foundation Building — Tier 1

One Pillar Per Week — Heavy Modeling — Zero-Cost

  • Week 1: Izzat — Greeting, equity sticks, “Thank you for trying.”
  • Week 2: Ehsas — Feeling check-in, “What I hear…”, avoid bechara.
  • Week 3: Tafakkur — See-Think-Wonder, Wonder Wall, wait time.
  • Week 4: Qaboo — Belly breathing, thermometer, calm space time-in.
✅ Success Indicators: Routines familiar. Students use basic language. Ittihad introduced in Week 4. 2 peer circles held.
Phase 2 Weeks 5–8

🔄 Skill Combination — Tier 1 → Tier 2

Pairing Pillars — Increasing Independence

  • Week 5: Izzat + Tafakkur — Respectful questioning: “What makes you think?”
  • Week 6: Ehsas + Qaboo — Regulation during feelings: pause and breathe.
  • Week 7: Tafakkur + Ittihad — Collaborative inquiry: group See-Think-Wonder.
  • Week 8: Ittihad + Qaboo — All pillars integration: clock partners, roles, peace table.
✅ Success Indicators: Students combine skills with less adult direction. Parent meeting held (Urdu: “Hum Izzat, Ehsas, Qaboo sikha rahe hain.”)
Phase 3 Weeks 9–12

🚀 Application Deepening — Tier 2

Student-Led — Independent Use

  • Week 9: Student-led Morning Circles / Home dinner check-ins.
  • Week 10: Independent Peace Table use — children use I Feel statements.
  • Week 11: Student-generated inquiry projects from Wonder Wall.
  • Week 12: Cross-class collaborative activities + Family showcase.
✅ Success Indicators: Students initiate routines and solve problems independently. Kindness Jar and Respect Chain growing.
Phase 4 Weeks 13–16

🌟 Mastery Showcase — Tier 3

Culture — Whole School & Community

  • Week 13: Peer teaching — students teach younger class or siblings.
  • Week 14: Preparation for BUNYAAD Showcase (families invited).
  • Week 15: Showcase Event — 10 min classroom visit. Child shares 30 sec on how they practiced Izzat/Ehsas (equitable — not just confident English speakers).
  • Week 16: Reflection and planning for next term — Student-led portfolio conference.
✅ Success Indicators: Classroom culture visibly transformed. Parents use same stems at home. Peer circles self-run. Visitor sees BUNYAAD in 10-min walk: greeting, feeling, roles, thermometer, calm space.

📌 Tier 1 ($0) defines BUNYAAD school. Tier 2 ($2–5/month) adds depth. Tier 3 ($5–10/month) is culture showcase. Core remains zero-cost.

5.3 Troubleshooting Common Challenges — Home and School

You will face challenges. This is normal. Here are practical, zero-cost solutions to the most common issues.

😄 Children giggle during breathing.
Solution: Normal for the first 2 days. Continue calmly. Say: “It is okay to giggle. Let us try again.” The adult models Qaboo first — giggles fade.
👦 Same boys dominate even with equity sticks.
Solution: Use Reporter shares partner idea — boys must listen to their girl partner. Track tally 1 day (boys 80% turns). Show the data to the class — children respond to fairness.
⏱️ Feeling check-in takes too long.
Solution: Keep it 30 seconds — nonverbal only. No stories during check-in. If a child wants to share more, offer “after class” or “after dinner.” Thumb or fingers quick scan.
🔄 Clock partners are chaotic.
Solution: Practice the movement. Say: “When I say ‘go,’ you have 20 seconds to find your partner… then freeze.” Use hand raise signal. Practice twice. It becomes automatic.
💔 Child uses “bechara” for empathy.
Solution: Gently correct: “That is sympathy from above — it lowers expectations. Ehsas is from alongside. Let us try: ‘He is finding it difficult. How can we help?’” Explicitly teach the distinction.
⏰ Parent says “no time” for BUNYAAD at home.
Solution: BUNYAAD is not extra. It is 5 minutes of dinner conversation — just add the stems: “What I hear…” “How do you feel?” Breathing before homework saves time by reducing conflict.
👨‍🏫 Head teacher says “no time” for this.
Solution: Show one routine: Greeting (2 min) increases on-task behavior by 20% (Allday 2007). Breathing improves attention. Syllabus finishes faster. Same 40 min, different process.
📉 Parent worries marks will drop.
Solution: OECD 2024: foundation skills (emotional control, empathy, curiosity) improve grades and attendance. Frame BUNYAAD as a method to improve marks, not compete with them.
🧠 Child uses Ehsas to manipulate.
Solution: Teach the difference between empathy and agreement. “I hear you are feeling angry. That makes sense. And hitting is not okay. What can we do instead?” I feel… I need… I will…

🤝 PLC Success Principles

  • Teachers bring student work examples and solutions tried.
  • Head teacher is a participant, not an inspector. Shares their own trials — normalizes imperfection.
  • Peer circles become self-run after Tier 3 — no external facilitator needed.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parent Circle — Monthly (30 min)

Same structure as PLC — builds Ittihad between parents and teachers.

  • Tafakkur: Wondering, questions, fridge Wonder Wall.
  • Qaboo: Breathing, calm space, thermometer.
  • Ittihad: Family roles, peace table, teamwork.

Success: Parents use the same stems at home. Children hear consistency — Izzat and Ehsas feel the same at both places.

📱 WhatsApp Voice Notes — 1 min weekly. Low data, high connection. Share “One try, one noticing.”

🔑 THE BUNYAAD PROMISE:
✅ Progress, not perfection.
✅ One pillar strong for 2 weeks is success.
✅ Tier 1 ($0) defines BUNYAAD school — even if you never reach Tier 3.
📢 Start tomorrow. One greeting. One “Thank you for trying.” One “What I hear…” — repeated daily, becomes foundation.
